The first version of Project Myriad, built as Team 6 for the 10,000 ft COTS category at the Australian Universities Rocket Competition (AURC) 2024. ARD's first Level 3 rocket in five years, designed by a team of over 30 members, it was a 160 mm, 2.36 m fibreglass rocket on the AeroTech M1845NT-PS, with a single-board SRAD flight computer and a payload that used CO2 and liquid nitrogen cooling to make ice cream. ARD placed 4th.

    Carried over

Built as the test-bed for this rocket, the L2 prototype validated the fibreglass airframe, nose cone, tip-to-tip fins, SRAD avionics and dual deployment.

    Lessons applied

Ground testing taught the team to use dog-barf wadding after failed separations.
